Property rights for married couples are set out in the Florida statutes, unlike property rights for unmarried partners, whether same-sex or domestic partners. Therefore, it’s very important that the financial arrangements and property arrangements between the partners be set out in writing. Generally, this could be a joint ownership agreement, but it’s also important to address those issues either in your will or in your revocable living trust.
